Omar Dixon
London based writer with a focus on British narratives across multiple generations.
I started my creative journey through Capoeira as a teenager. Taught by Mestre Poncianinho Almeida. Throught that, I learnt how to use my body to tell stories.
Capoeira has given me the opportunity to perform on live stages and teach the youth.
I served as a missionary for the church in Scotland/ Ireland for two years. This provided me with opportunities to lead and serve despite some fundamental differences with my own religion.
I am committed to helping those in Britian look at life differently through the lens of movement, capoeira and storytelling.
Education:
- Birkbeck, University of London: BA Creative Writing
